A cut crease, bigger lips, flawless skin, chiselled contour and a blinding glow… I tried to recreate this Instagram trend. Here’s what happened:
But I actually ended up… well, not hating it.
I’ll be honest, I tried this makeup style because I thought I would look ridiculous and we could all get a wee laugh out of it.
Who’d have thought?
Don’t get me wrong, I think glam make up looks flawless and glamorous-
I just didn’t think it would suit me or that I’d manage to do it.
To my surprise, I think with a little more practice, I might start doing it more often.
At least when I have the time.

Final Thoughts
Things I liked:
The Eyebrows
I don’t normally pay a lot of attention to my eyebrows- but I really liked how they looked after shaping them in this way. This I will definitely do again.
Contour
Again, I usually hold back on my everyday contour, in fear of it looking just like a brown smudge on my face, but spending a bit more time to apply it and blend it out really shaped my face nicely.
However, I still refuse to contour my nose. (I really don’t see the point.)
That Glow
I’ve never been one to use highlighter but now I think I love that glowy look.
Bright concealer under the eyes
I applied a lot more concealer under the eyes than I normally would and I liked the brightening results.
Things I didn’t like:
The Foundation
This is for two reasons; a) I’ve never gotten on with the Bare Minerals Liquid Foundation, it just doesn’t suit my drier skin and it feels impossible to blend without it going patchy and cakey;
And b) having dry skin means I don’t normally wear full coverage, heavy foundation since a more sheer look suits me and my skin better.
I think if I used my Nyx foundation, or found one that suited my skin type better, I might have liked my base a lot more.
Cut Crease
I didn’t like how the dusty pink and the glittery pink looked together, but I did like the elongated shape it gave to my eye.
Lips
Next time I’d like to use a lip pencil to overline my lips instead of just using the lipstick, and not apply any gloss over the top.
