Woodland Solitude

Sometimes I feel so very out of place

That even my shadow leaves me behind,

Alone with ideas that put up the chase,

Running through the walls that keep me confined.

So I’ll take a walk in rain and quiet

To where the trees make it safer to ink.

I’ll get lost in leaves, in peace and private,

Where I’m not so afraid to think, and think,

In a place far more lonelier than I,

And with silence much louder than my own;

Pathways for thought where I don’t need to lie,

Comfortable enough to just be alone.

Perhaps that says something about my soul;

I feel most at home in the damp and cold.

    I’m liking this one, you really get the feel of woodland in the rain. I love woods, they hold so much thought and memory. Lovely.
